Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man accused of fatally shooting conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, appeared in a Utah court Thursday for the first time in-person since his arrest.

Candace Owens and Erika Kirk had a private meeting amid an ongoing tiff over Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10.

The effort to bring federal charges has been met with resistance by some career prosecutors who argue the crime doesn’t appear to fall under any federal statutes.

“Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15. @RealCandaceO and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting. I look forward to a productive conversation. Thank you," Kirk posted on X.

Robinson, who previously appeared only by audio or video feed from jail, entered the courtroom wearing a dress shirt, tie and slacks, with restraints on his wrists and ankles.

Tyler Robinson faces murder charges in Utah in the Sept. 10 assassination of Mr. Kirk, the political activist and ally of President Trump.

After calling Kirk “hateful” just after his death, Seyfried quickly addressed the backlash her comment created in a more nuanced Instagram post.
