Stock market today: Dow rises in wake of market drop; Tesla wavers early (live coverage)
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the other major stock indexes were mixed Wednesday, as Wall Street tried to bounce back from Tuesday's market drop. Meanwhile, Tesla TSLA wavered as it tried to rally to more record highs on the stock market today.
The Dow Jones ended with losses of over 300 points and are now down over 800 points from last Friday's record high level of close to 49,000. The index, at the day's low was down nearly 500 points, before a minor recovery.
Shares of EV-maker Tesla rose 3.1% Tuesday to their first record since last December. The price move, which pushed the stock to $489.88, gave the company run by Elon Musk a market cap of $1.629 trillion,
