HBO is officially fixing Game of Thrones season 8 with its sequel plans, and after her controversial death, Daenerys Targaryen could finally return.

HBO has released the final trailer for “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” an upcoming prequel series set in the “Game of Thrones” universe.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on Jan. 18, 2026, as revealed in a panel at New York Comic-Con. The miniseries will consist of six episodes, three directed by Sara Adina Smith and three by Owen Harris. Yes! On Nov. 20, 2025, less than two months before the series premiere, HBO renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a Season 2.
