The NFL MVP race has tightened in the final month, and two quarterbacks have emerged as the clear frontrunners according to ESPN. Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford and New England Patriots’ Drake Maye continue to trade momentum,

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford recorded his 28th straight touchdown pass without an interception against the Carolina Panthers.

Stafford has never seemed too interested in personal accolades, but he will be 38 when the 2025 season is over. It's unclear if Stafford is thinking about retirement, but he recently said he would "entertain" coming back in 2026 if he's still healthy.

At age 37, Matthew Stafford could win his first MVP award and maybe even another Super Bowl, which would cement his Hall of Fame case.

The Los Angeles Rams may dip into the veteran quarterback trade market if and when Matthew Stafford retires.
