Facing a brutal second-half schedule, Terry Smith took over as PSU's interim head coach and led the Lions to a 3-3 record and a spot in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Penn State Nittany Lions athletic director Pat Kraft publicly apologized for viral audio of him that got leaked. In the clip, he can be heard hurling some insults at the Oregon Ducks and quarterback Dante Moore.

Audio from Kraft’s meeting with a group of players two weeks ago was secretly recorded and leaked last Friday. Kraft could be heard using a lot of profanity, criticizing fellow Big Ten football programs Michigan, Oregon, Indiana, Rutgers and Iowa and telling the players that he would never lie to them.

Nothing is etched in stone and funding has yet to be secured but a new practice facility for wrestling at Penn State is in the talking stages.
