Critics appear to be on board for the wild ride. The Housemaid, Paul Feig ’s campy and outrageous throwback thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried is generating mostly positive reviews with critics praising the film as “undeniably entertaining,” and unapologetically bold.
Seyfried—who stars as Ann Lee, the founding leader of the Shakers religious sect in the 18th century, in The Testament of Ann Lee —walked the red carpet at Linwood Dunn Theater alongside co-star Thomasin McKenzie, who plays her sister in the film. The movie comes our on Christmas Day.
