Preliminary evidence indicates Naveed Akram, 24, staged a “terrorist attack inspired by ISIS," police said Wednesday. The charges came as the first funerals for victims were held under tight security.

A Pakistani-origin man living in Sydney put out of video seeking help to stop the misinformation on social media where his photo was used as that of shooter Naveed Akram, as both of them have the same name.

Naveed Akram, 24, and his 50-year-old accomplice are believed to be father and son, authorities said on Monday.
