President Donald Trump has successfully harnessed voter anxiety over the economy, immigration and crime to retake the White House.
Near the end of his first term in 2021, Trump signed a law authorizing up to five new quarters and a dollar coin for the 250th celebration in 2026. The statute mandated that coins be “emblematic” of the semiquincentennial, and one quarter was required to show a woman’s contribution to the nation’s birth or other important moments.
