Eliminated in group play after winning the NBA's in-season tournament last season, the Bucks are getting a much-needed four-day break while adjusting to playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo for an extended time due to his calf injury. Because the Bucks aren't in the quarterfinals, two regular-season games were added to their schedule.

OKC Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will play in his team's NBA Cup quarterfinals home game against the Phoenix Suns at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

They were without Luka Doncic for the first two games of the trip and without LeBron James for Friday's loss to the Boston Celtics. Both were back on Sunday when the Lakers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, but the team was still without guard Marcus Smart, who missed their last six games due to a back issue.

The Cup is becoming more popular in its third iteration. The league announced that viewership on Amazon Prime, NBC/Peacock and ESPN broadcasts of this year’s group-play games was up 90 percent from last year. Amazon was primarily the home for primetime NBA Cup action, and it did a great job engaging fans.
