It's still two weeks until Christmas, and Chicagoland has already seen plenty of winter weather this season. Well, get ready for more snow later Thursday, then extreme cold this weekend. At least a trace of snow has fallen on eight of the first 10 days of December,

Impact Weather: Snow showers Saturday night then bitterly cold Sunday
We are tracking more impact weather for the weekend including another chance for snow and dangerously cold temperatures.
Even as of Thursday morning, some models were showing the potential for a quick burst of snowflakes in the Triangle.
TONIGHT: Snow with spots changing to a wintry mix and all rain. Temperatures climb during the first part of the night, staying in the 20s, 30s, and some low 40s. SSW wind 5-15 mph. THURSDAY: Brightening skies with falling temperatures. Highs occur in the morning staying in the 20s and 30s. West wind will gust to 30 mph.
