US News analyzed 150 metro areas in the US to find the best place to live in the country. Places were ranked based on four key characteristics: value, desirability, job opportunities, and quality of life.

The 417-day-long experiment, known as LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ), looked at the light signatures released as particles collide with xenon atoms in a giant vat, which is placed deep underground so that most particles from space cannot muddy the results.

U.S. News and World Report released its list of the Best Places to Live in Florida for 2025-2026. Parkland, a town in northern Broward County, was ranked as the number one best place to live. The top ten list includes cities from across the state, such as Palm Harbor, Jupiter, Pensacola, and Naples.
