The win marked Duke's first league title since it split one with the Cavaliers in 1989 before the establishment of the ACC Championship Game. Virginia (10-3) was also seeking its first-ever conference championship game victory but couldn't overcome a barrage of clutch plays from the Blue Devils.

Last week was another rough one for the ACC in women’s college basketball. For the third consecutive season, the conference went head-to-head with the SEC in the annual SEC-ACC Challenge. And for a second straight year, the SEC won the majority of those matchups, this time taking 13-of-16 games.
