A Jacksonville man is $1 million richer. The Florida Lottery announced Friday that 61-year-old Billy Pitman claimed the prize from the $25 million Gold Rush Multiplier Scratch-Off game in November. Pitman purchased the winning ticket from a Winn-Dixie in Jacksonville.

The Powerball jackpot has swelled to an estimated $1 billion ahead of Saturday night's drawing, marking one of the largest prizes in history.

After the Powerball jackpot remained unclaimed on Wednesday, Dec. 10, it has now climbed to an estimated $1 billion, according to Powerball's website. If someone wins the massive jackpot, they can choose to take home a one-time cash payment of $461.
