On average, fingernails grow around 3.5 millimeters (mm) per month, or about a tenth of a millimeter per day. Toenails grow more slowly, at about one-third of that rate, or 1 mm per month. Your nails won’t grow more quickly if you take biotin, but several studies show that it can strengthen brittle nails, which would make them less likely to break.
