I’m making a “Pity” Pie!! New recipe for yuns!! This is an old fashioned Buttermilk Pie that’s been around for years! This is a pie that was often taken to people when they had a death in their family as a gesture of sympathy. It was customary in the mountains of south east Kentucky to take food to people during deaths. This is a true Appalachian recipe as it uses just a few ingredients that you have in your kitchen! I added lemon to it as I love the extra tanginess it gives to it. It’s optional
